Team Holt announces Community Care Clinic in Kennebecasis Valley

October 7, 2024 (Kennebecasis Valley) – Today, Leader of the Liberal Party Susan Holt, Aaron Kennedy, candidate for Quispamsis, and Alyson Townsend, candidate for Rothesay, announced that a Holt government would establish a community care clinic in the growing region of Kennebecasis Valley.

“One of the reasons I decided to run in this election was the terrible state of healthcare in the Kennebecasis Valley, where only a third of residents can get an appointment within five days” said Kennedy. “Voters have been clear that healthcare is the number one issue in this election and I’m proud to be part of a team focused on providing solutions for this problem.”

The community care clinic model will bring together healthcare professionals from across the primary care spectrum – from doctors and nurses to mental health professionals and others – to provide New Brunswickers with a healthcare home. The clinics will provide patients with access to preventative and primary care so that they aren’t forced to spend hours waiting in emergency rooms.

“This community care clinic will act as a healthcare hub for our growing population across Rothesay and Quispamsis,” said Townsend. “We have the opportunity to ensure these clinics are meeting the specific needs of each community.”

“I am very excited to announce this clinic for the Kennebecasis Valley – the twelfth location to be added to the list,” said Liberal Leader Susan Holt. “Alyson and Aaron are going to make incredible representatives for the people of this region as they are already putting in the hard work to bring forth solutions that will help to ease the pressures of population growth and also take some of the strain from healthcare access in the greater Saint John region.” 

A Holt government will establish at least 30 community care clinics across the province so that New Brunswickers have access to healthcare close to home when they need it.
