July 24, 2024 (Riverview) – Liberals gathered in the riding of Riverview to nominate Scott Grant as their candidate for the next provincial election.

As the event kicked off, surrounded by over 125 local supporters, candidates, and caucus members, Susan Holt, leader of the NB Liberal Party shared “We are hearing more and more that it is time for a change. People feel that their voices don’t matter and that has to change.”

Riverview is the twenty-fifth riding where the Liberal Party is holding a nominating convention leading up to the next provincial election.

Scott is a proud lifelong resident of Riverview where he resides with his wife and three grown children. Scott is a graduate of Mount Allison University and began his career with the Atlantic Lottery Corporation (ALC) more than 30 years ago. Throughout his tenure at ALC, he has held various leadership positions in both Marketing and Sales, and currently serves as Regional Director, NB-PE. Scott’s community involvement has centered around family, holding volunteer roles at St Paul’s United Church, and supporting his children’s sporting activities through various roles. He was a member of the Moncton Progress Club; is a current member of 100 Men Who Care and is an active member of the NBCC Board of Governors.

When addressing the crowd after his win, Grant said “I’ve managed teams both big and small, and they would tell you I’m a team player and a great listener. I want to represent the people of Riverview and be your voice in Fredericton. We have a lot of work to do especially tackling the challenges we face in healthcare, seniors care, education, and affordability. I will work hard to ensure we have a community that is safe and inclusive for all.”

In closing the event, Holt said, “We are stronger when we work together and it is this united team that will earn the trust of New Brunswickers. No matter where you live, no matter what language you speak, and no matter who you love, every voice deserves to be heard and respected.”
