May 27th, 2024 (Haute-Terres-Nepisiguit) – Liberals gathered in the riding of Haute-Terres-Nepisiguit today to nominate Luc Robichaud as their candidate for the next provincial election.
As the event began, surrounded by over 100 local supporters, caucus members, and nominated candidates, Leader of the Liberal Party of New Brunswick Susan Holt said “This riding is and will always be near and dear to my heart, it has been such a privilege to represent the wonderful people in this beautiful region as MLA. I will be forever grateful for the warm welcome and support that I received when elected here in 2023.”
Haute-Terres-Nepisiguit is the nineteenth riding where the Liberal Party is holding a nominating convention leading up to the next provincial election.
Luc is a graduate of the computer science program at CCNB Bathurst, following which he taught at CCNB Bathurst and Péninsule Acadienne for several years. He was General Manager of the Club plein air de Caraquet from 2017 to 2020, and has since been General Manager of the Coopérative de Paquetville. At the political level, Luc was Mayor of Paquetville from May 2016 to 2022, and was President of the Forum des maires de la Péninsule Acadienne in 2017-2018. He currently sits as councilor for the Municipalité des Hautes-Terres. Luc is an avid sportsman, and when he gets the chance, he enjoys mountain biking, golf, field hockey and fly fishing. When time permits, he loves to pass on his passions to children. He has coached soccer, mountain biking, and field hockey.
When addressing the crowd, Robichaud said, “I am very grateful to be joining Susan’s team. The pride and sense of belonging of the people in this region are the strength of our community. This motivates me and drives me to work hard for the people of Hautes-Terres-Nepisiguit”.
In closing the event, Holt said “Luc will be such a wonderful addition to our team. He was born and raised in the heart of the Acadian Peninsula and has such a deep commitment to the people of this region. We need to get out of Fredericton. One man in one one office in Fredericton doesn’t’ know best about what Haute Terres Nepisiguit needs, Luc knows best about what Hautes Terre Nepisiguit needs. I’m thrilled to have Luc join our team, because it will take a team of people on the ground, who knows what’s needed for communities all across the province to thrive.”
