Tanya is an experienced and highly skilled educational leader who has made a career of pursuing excellence in teaching , learning, family engagement,  and systems improvement. Her commitment to equity issues and inclusive schools has set her apart as a sought after expert in these areas. Besides her many years as a school principal, Tanya has successfully held system level leadership roles as Director of Schools, Learning Specialist for Professional Learning and School Reviews, Leadership Lead and was also privileged to serve as the Project Executive for Inclusion at the Ministry of Education and Early Childhood.    

Certified as a Human Synergistics coach and a Qualified Mediator, Tanya has worked with many individuals and teams.  Equity issues have always been a passion for Tanya, exemplified by her contribution to Sexual Violence Prevention and 2SLGBTQI+ support.     Committed to Reconciliation in action, she has been a Blanket Exercise Facilitator and worked in a variety of capacities with First Nation communities across the country.  

She also values community service and has volunteered her whole adult life, currently serving as President of the board of Inclusion NB, board member of Inclusion Canada, Meals on Wheels volunteer, and Sexual Violence NB crisis line volunteer. 

Tanya decided to get involved in the political world to work alongside others who care about supporting New Brunswickers and build from the ground up, with community at the center. She believes that governments are tasked with promoting progressive public policy that enables effective community-based change to occur.

Most importantly, Tanya holds her family and friend network as being foundational for supporting her and bringing great joy to her life.  Tanya is wife to Ross, and the mom of five children, two grandchildren, and two cats.
