Stephen is a former MLA, Deputy Premier and Minister (Public Safety, Social Development, Solicitor General and Military Affairs) in the New Brunswick Government, 2014 – 2018.

He grew up and attended school in Oromocto. He was a Fredericton police officer for 25 years, retiring in 2012. Besides his police career, he is also a supply teacher who has taught in Oromocto and Fredericton region schools for 30 years.

Stephen is married to Ann Kenny with two children and two grandchildren, soon to be three any time now!

He volunteers at the Food Bank, The Bredan Oreto Foundation and at the Hanwell Academy where his grandchildren attend school.

Stephen is an energetic natural leader whose dedication to community and family is well known, and well respected.
