Fredericton, September 8, 2024 – Susan Holt and her team of 48 candidates officially kicked off their 2024 election campaign in front of over 500 people at the Boyce Farmers Market in Fredericton. This also marked Holt being officially named the Liberal candidate for the riding of Fredericton South-Silverwood.
“We’re here because New Brunswickers are ready for a change,” said Susan Holt, Leader of the Liberal Party of New Brunswick. “Our province deserves better healthcare, affordable living, and a government that works for everyone. Our team is ready to deliver that change, and today’s incredible turnout is proof that New Brunswickers are ready too.”
During the kickoff, the Liberals also unveiled their campaign slogan – “Focused on You”. The slogan is a clear indication of their commitment to making this year’s election about the priorities of the people of New Brunswick. This is in stark contrast to Blaine Higgs who continues to have the wrong priorities, leaving New Brunswickers without a family doctor and struggling to pay their bills.
Team Holt is focused on New Brunswickers’ Priorities
The Liberals are the first of the parties to fill their slate of 49 candidates – nearly two weeks before the election is scheduled to be called. In addition to connecting directly with tens of thousands of New Brunswickers on their doorsteps and in their communities, the team has already begun to show New Brunswickers the kind of solutions they would deliver as a government.
During the event, Holt reaffirmed her commitment to ensuring that every resident has access to primary care through community care clinics. She also spoke about the overwhelming support for their newly announced universal school food program that will help make life more affordable for New Brunswick families and help students thrive.
“The plan and commitments that we will be sharing during the campaign reflect what we have heard from the people in this province that we all love,” says the Liberal leader. “Because everyone I meet in this province at doors in every corner keeps telling me the same thing – Higgs has to go. Unlike the PCs, we understand that we are stronger when we work together, and it is this united team that will earn the trust of New Brunswickers. No matter where you live, no matter what language you speak, and no matter who you love, your voice deserves to be heard and respected.”
