FREDERICTON – Last night the New Brunswick Liberal Association (NBLA) held the Nomination Convention for the riding of Fredericton North for the next provincial election on September 24, 2018.  Stephen Horsman, Deputy Premier, Minister of Families and Children and current MLA for Fredericton North, was nominated as the candidate for the Liberals in Fredericton North in an uncontested meeting held Wednesday night.

Premier Brian Gallant, who is also Leader of the New Brunswick Liberal Party, was present at the nomination and commended Horsman on his work for the riding. “Stephen has been a remarkable Deputy Premier and a great advocate for the city of Fredericton, and for Fredericton North in particular.” said Gallant. “It is clear he is in politics for the right reasons.”

Mr. Horsman graduated from the Atlantic Police Academy in 1987. He served as a police officer for the City of Fredericton for 25 years before retiring. He has experience as a supply teacher and coach and has served as a volunteer on various community boards and committees.

Horsman said he was humbled to receive the uncontested endorsement from his riding. “It has been an honour and a privilege to represent the people of Fredericton North. I look forward to continuing the great work that we have started in our riding and the Fredericton region,” said Horsman.
