Women’s Liberal Commission Biennial Convention
April 12 @ 1:00 pm - 4:30 pm
The New Brunswick Women’s Liberal Commission (NBWLC) is thrilled to announce that we will be holding our Biennial Convention on Saturday, April 12 of this year, from 1:00pm until 4:30pm, at Ecole Sainte-Anne School, (Salle Beausoleil) 715 Priestman St. Fredericton, and we invite you to join us!
This exciting event will include:
➢ An “All-Star Powerhouse” Fireside Chat Panel discussion
➢ The launch of, and voting on, of our newly formed local Chapters (see attachment)
➢ NBWLC Business – voting on our Newly Revised Constitution, and Election of the Executive: President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer (see attachment) (Only NBWLC members will be eligible to vote)
➢ Tony Barry Fund Annual General Meeting, voting on our Newly Revised Constitution, and Election of the Board: President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, 6 (six) Directors (see attachment) (voting open to all NBLA members)
➢ Exciting Silent Auction, featuring a circa 1850 originally crafted Nisbet N.B. Legislative Council Chamber Desk, with all proceeds going to the Tony Barry Fund in support of female candidates.
The NBWLC works to foster awareness among women of the Liberal Party, and to encourage and support all women to participate in our political system, as well as to assist those women who run for/are elected to office in New Brunswick. We are currently looking for women/ female identifying persons interested in joining the Commission, Board, and in joining regional/local Chapters to help foster these goals. All members of the New Brunswick Liberal Association are invited to the Biennial – please note that only members of the NBWLC are eligible to vote, and to serve on the Executive of THE NBWLC. Nominations for the election will close 7 days prior to the event.
The Tony Barry Fund Annual Meeting will immediately follow the NBWLC Biennial. The Tony Barry Fund Works to financially assist and provide information to assist nominated women Liberal candidates in a Provincial election; as well as promote the objectives of the NBWLC. Any NBLA member is eligible to vote and serve on the Tony Barry Fund Board, respecting 51% women and regional representation.
