Brian Murphy, QC, the President of the New Brunswick Liberal Association has announced that following a meeting of the NBLA Board of Directors, a date and location of the New Brunswick Liberal Leadership Convention has been selected.

The convention will be held August 6, 2022, at the Convention Centre in the City of Fredericton.

“I’m pleased that our party will be moving forward to choose its next Liberal Leader. There is a growing excitement throughout the province about the leadership race”, said Murphy.

Murphy also indicated that the Board had also passed a resolution that provides that there will be no fees to vote, and no fees will be charged to registered Liberals who want to attend the convention.

“We are a party that openly welcomes all those who share our Liberal values, and we want to ensure that everyone who wishes to participate in the democratic process of selecting the next Liberal Leader can do so”, said Murphy.

He indicated that in addition to voting at the convention, registered members will be able to vote online the week leading up to the convention. The results will be announced later that day during the convention and the new leader will then address the members. Murphy also indicated that the convention will be broadcast online.
