Due to the on-going concerns surrounding COVID-19, the New Brunswick Liberal Association (NBLA) held its first virtual nomination convention Thursday night. Chris Duffie was nominated as the Liberal candidate for Fredericton West-Hanwell in an uncontested meeting that was streamed live on the internet.

Kevin Vickers, the Leader of the New Brunswick Liberal Party, congratulated Duffie. “I’m extremely pleased to have Chris Duffie as the Liberal candidate for Fredericton West-Hanwell” said Vickers. “Chris will represent the riding of Fredericton West-Hanwell with fairness, compassion and vision. He is a person who will help bring respect back to government.”

In 1995, Duffie established Terra Consultants which started out as a small IT service centre in Fredericton and grew into a thriving business with computer sales and service, and a large-format graphics division. Through his businesses and many volunteer roles in community organizations, Duffie has been able to build positive relationships and connections within the community.

He has been married for 26 years to wife Amanda (Fevens) Duffie, who was born and raised in Fredericton. They have two children aged 22 and 25. “My wife and I raised our two children to believe that each day is an opportunity to learn, help, play and grow. In my work and through my involvement with community organizations, I have learned that many others in the riding share the same values” said Duffie.

Duffie said he was honoured and humbled to receive the uncontested endorsement from the Fredericton West-Hanwell Liberal Association. “Energy, enthusiasm, and follow-through are the principles I have based my life on in my roles as husband, father, and small business owner. They are also the principles I based my intention to run for the riding of Fredericton West-Hanwell.” said Duffie.

The list of official nominations for the New Brunswick Liberal Party is posted on its website at nbliberal.ca.
