Moncton Centre

Born and raised in Moncton Centre, Robert McKee was elected to Moncton City Council for Ward 3 in May 2016 and then elected to the New Brunswick Legislature as a Liberal Member for Moncton Centre September 24, 2018. He is the opposition critic responsible for Justice and Attorney General, and serves on the Standing Committees on Private Bills and Law Amendments. Mr. McKee also practices law at Fowler Law in Moncton.

Fluently bilingual, his education includes a Bachelor of Laws from l’Université de Moncton, a Bachelor of Applied Management in Accounting from the University of New Brunswick in Saint John, a Diploma in Accounting from the New Brunswick Community College and a high school diploma from the Athol Murray College of Notre Dame in Wilcox, SK.

Mr. McKee has been an active community volunteer for many years. In addition to serving breakfast to children at Queen Elizabeth School, he is currently President of St. Augustine’s Housing Ltd., and formerly sat on the board of the John Howard Society of Southeastern New Brunswick. He also has experience as Chairperson for the Mental Health Review Board. As councillor, he served on the Moncton Public Library Board, Moncton Cultural Board, Taxi Committee and the City of Moncton Employee Pension Board.

He is a third generation McKee to be elected to the New Brunswick Legislature as his father and grandfather were both Members of the Legislative Assembly. Michael McKee represented Moncton North from 1974 to 1992 and Killeen McKee represented Kent from 1940 to 1950.

Mr. McKee and his wife Tara have two children Michael and Anna.

He is currently the Opposition critic for Finance and Treasury Board and for the Attorney General.
