We turned around an economy in decline. Government directly contributed to the creation of more than 15,000 jobs which boosted our economy far above where it would have been without our investments. GDP is forecast to have grown by more than 6% under our watch, while it retracted when Blaine Higgs was Finance minister.
- We created the Youth Employment Fund, which has given 6,000 youth real job experience over the past four years.
- We raised the minimum wage to $11.25 per hour from $10, increasing the annual earnings of a full-time minimum wage earner by over $2,500
- We invested an extra $150 million per year in infrastructure across all regions to create jobs while improving our roads, schools, and hospitals
- We introduced one of the most generous HST rebates in the country providing many New Brunswick households with less than $75,000 in income with more money in their pockets
