November 27, 2017
ROTHESAY – The New Brunswick Liberal Association held a nomination convention last Tuesday night for the next provincial election on September 24, 2018. Stephanie Tomilson was nominated as the Liberal candidate for Rothesay in an uncontested meeting.
Premier Brian Gallant, who is also Leader of the New Brunswick Liberal Party, was present at the nomination and commended Tomilson on her community engagement in the riding. “Stephanie Tomilson is a leader in the educational community. She will be a great addition to the team as we focus on New Brunswicker’s priorities of education, jobs and families.” said Gallant.

Stephanie Tomilson has been Principal at Rothesay High School since 2012. She’s been a Principal or an Assistant Principal in schools of the Saint John region since 2007. Stephanie has been an educator for over 20 years.  She has spent 11 of those in administration and greatly contributes in a variety of community outreach programs in her school.

Tomilson received a Bachelor of Arts (major in English) and a Bachelor in Elementary Education from Saint Thomas University in Fredericton, and a Masters of Education (Educational Foundations in Administration) from University of New Brunswick. She is also a board member of KV Oasis Youth Centre and Hestia House Women’s Shelter.

Stephanie Tomilson said he was honoured to receive the uncontested endorsement from the members of Rothesay. “Representing Rothesay would be a true honour.  Rothesay has much to contribute to New Brunswick and their voices will certainly be heard if I am elected.” said Tomilson.

This nomination brings the party closer to its goal that half the people nominated in ridings where we don’t have an MLA, or an MLA who isn’t running again, be women. 7 of 9 currently nominated candidates in those ridings are women.

The list of official contestants for nominations are available on the New Brunswick Liberal Party’s website at nbliberal.ca.
