MLA, Edmundston-Madawaska Centre
Jean-Claude D’Amours was MP for Madawaska-Restigouche from 2004 to 2011. Previously, he was city councillor for the city of Edmundston in Ward 1 from 1998 to 2004. He has also been Official Opposition Spokesperson for National Revenue (Canada), as well as Official Opposition Spokesperson for the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA) and the Atlantic Gateway. He currently serves as policy advocate for the department of Health.
Professionally, Mr. D’Amours was a business development manager for the Business Development Banque of Canada and has worked more recently in media for the last seven years. In terms of education, Jean-Claude D’Amours holds a multidisciplinary bachelor in both political science and management, a bachelor of commerce as well as two certificates in accounting and management.
Jean-Claude is married to Hélène Thériault. They have two daughters, Émilie and Alexandra.
