John Ames nominated as Liberal candidate in Saint Croix

SAINT ANDREWS – The New Brunswick Liberal Association (NBLA) held a nomination convention Wednesday night for the next provincial election on September 24, 2018.   John Ames was nominated as the Liberal candidate for Saint Croix in an uncontested meeting.  John Ames, Minister of Tourism, Heritage and Culture is the current MLA for Saint Croix.


Premier Brian Gallant, who is also Leader of the New Brunswick Liberal Party, was present at the nomination and commended Ames on his work for the riding “John represents a new kind of politics that prioritizes regular citizen engagement. He will continue to be a strong advocate for the Charlotte County region and their priorities of jobs, education, and healthcare, such as the Charlotte County Hospital” said Gallant.


Mr. Ames is the former Deputy Mayor of St. Stephen, Chairman of the Planning, Promotion and Tourism Board, and Vice President of Charlotte County Alternative Transportation Association, situated in his riding’s largest municipality, St. Stephen, where he continues to reside.

John Ames said he was honoured to receive the uncontested endorsement from Saint Croix. “Representing the wonderful people of Saint Croix has been an honour and a privilege.  I very much appreciate the opportunity to proudly continue the great work we are doing in our riding” said Ames.
