November 21, 2023 (HOPEWELL CAPE) – Liberals gathered in the riding of Albert-Riverview last night to nominate their candidate for the next provincial election.

In remarks kicking off the event, Liberal Leader Susan Holt said, “I am beyond thrilled to welcome Dave to our dynamic team of individuals who have chosen to step up and put their names forward to represent and advocate for their friends, neighbours, and communities.”

Albert-Riverview is the third riding where the Liberal Party has held a nominating convention to select their candidate leading up to the next election.

Dave Gouthro operates the National Tire Distributors located in Moncton. He is a fierce advocate of community engagement and involvement. He and his husband Michael have a 16 year old son, Keenan.

During the event, Gouthro spoke passionately about why he made the decision to run. “A community that advocates together, succeeds together. We have serious challenges in rural NB, particularly related to access to quality health care and schools struggling to secure adequate staffing and resources. I am committed to being a strong voice for our community, to ensure rural issues are heard loud and clear in Fredericton.

The New Brunswick Liberal Party will continue to hold nominating conventions to choose candidates over the coming weeks. Holt said she was thrilled by the turnout and excited to welcome Gouthro to the Liberal team.
