The New Brunswick Liberal Association is excited to begin preparing for the highly anticipated by-elections: we are kicking off our efforts to elect three new Liberal MLAs.  The Dieppe Liberal Association will be holding their nominating convention on February 25, 2023 at the Wingate Hotel Dieppe.

“The Liberal party is growing, and we want to be as open and inclusive as we can. We’re looking for passionate New Brunswickers from all walks of life, all professions, and all backgrounds who want to see their community and our province thrive”, says Liberal Leader, Susan Holt. “I encourage anyone in the riding of Dieppe who is curious about getting involved in provincial politics to visit the New Brunswick Liberal Association website to learn more about becoming a Liberal Candidate.”

To maximize accessibility to the nomination process and ensure that all members have their voices heard, the Dieppe nomination will be held in a virtual-hybrid model much like the Leadership Convention. This format allows members to vote at their convenience during a designated period of time but also provides an opportunity to gather together for the live announcement of the nomination results.

“The Liberal Caucus and I are eager to welcome new faces to the table. We urge the Premier to call these three by-elections as soon as possible to ensure all New Brunswickers are represented in the Legislature without further delay.  During the fall Legislative session, our Liberal caucus passed a bill closing the loop-hole that the Higgs government previously used to leave two ridings vacant for over a year.”

“We want to hear from those who want to join our team as we continue to hold this government to account on the issues important to all New Brunswickers including healthcare, education, and cost of living.

The deadline to submit nomination papers, which can be found on the NBLA website, is Tuesday, February 14th, at 4:30pm.
