The Office of the Official Opposition will observe the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation on Thursday, September 30th by closing their offices.

“This week, Canada will honour the children lost to residential schools, as well as the survivors, families and communities who suffered from the atrocities perpetuated at these establishments. The office of the Official Opposition in Fredericton and all Liberal constituency offices will be closed on September 30th in honour of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. While it has not been made a provincial holiday, the Liberal Caucus has decided to close our offices to allow our members and staff to commemorate and reflect on the painful legacy of residential schools.”

Roger Melanson

Leader of the Official Opposition
