“I am outraged yet unfortunately not surprised that the Minster of Health left out 26 healthcare associations from their first wave of consultations on health care reform. This gross oversight demonstrates what little importance the Higgs government gives to the consultation process. How can you forget to consult health care workers in a consultation on health care reform? Premier Higgs and Minister Shephard see consultations as a formality, they already know what they want to do and that isn’t going to change much. This is fake consultation. We expressed serious concerns about the consultation process when we were approached by the department, and proposed a more open and transparent way of doing it in our official response.”
