“In recent days members of our caucus have received many calls from people experiencing problems with the application process for the New Brunswick Workers Emergency Income Benefit. People have experienced problems both with online applications and in trying to reach someone on the phone. When the benefit was announced the premier stated it would be available until April 30. However, this week he announced applications would no longer be accepted after 8 p.m. today, April 9. Given the problems people have encountered we are requesting the premier extend this deadline beyond today, until such time we’re satisfied that everyone eligible for this benefit has had the opportunity to have their application processed.”
