MINTO – The New Brunswick Liberal Association held a nomination convention Thursday night  for the next provincial election on September 24, 2018.  Wendy Tremblay was nominated as the Liberal candidate for Fredericton-Grand Lake in an uncontested meeting.

 

Premier Brian Gallant, who is also Leader of the New Brunswick Liberal Party, was present at the nomination and commended Tremblay on her community engagement in the riding. “Wendy has demonstrated great leadership in her community.  She will certainly be a great addition to our team as we continue to focus on the economy, education and health care” said Gallant.

 

A lifelong resident of the Grand Lake area, Wendy resides in Minto. She is currently employed as the site manager for Cloud5 which provides communications expertise to the hospitality industry. During her 18-year tenure, Wendy worked her way up, starting as an agent, progressed to a team lead, then an operations manager, all the way to account/site operations manager. She oversees operations and strategic planning for a workforce of over 60 employees in the Minto location.

 

Wendy is a graduate of Minto Memorial High School and the Woodstock Community College. She has continued her education and professional development through additional training and courses.  Wendy’s work ethic and outstanding leadership skills have been acknowledged by her employer when she was awarded Leader of the Year. Enterprise Central recognized her professional achievements by awarding her Entrepreneur of the Year.

 

Wendy Tremblay said she was honoured to receive the uncontested endorsement from the members of Fredericton-Grand Lake. “If you give me the opportunity to represent you as your MLA, I will be dedicated to opening more doors to economic growth and good jobs in our riding.” said Tremblay.

 

This nomination brings the party closer to its goal that women make up 50% of the candidates nominated in unheld ridings in the next provincial election. Ten of the 18 currently nominated candidates in those ridings are women.
