CAP-PELÉ  – The New Brunswick Liberal Association held a nomination convention Saturday afternoon for the next provincial election on September 24, 2018.  Jacques LeBlanc was nominated as the Liberal candidate for Shediac-Beaubassin-Cap-Pelé in an uncontested meeting.

Premier Brian Gallant, who is also Leader of the New Brunswick Liberal Party, was present at the nomination and commended LeBlanc on his community engagement in the riding. “Jacques LeBlanc has been a great community leader and will continue to focus on growing the economy, strengthening the education and improving health care for the people of Shediac-Beaubassin-Cap-Pelé,” said Gallant.

LeBlanc has been involved in the municipal political scene in Shediac for the last 10 years, 6 years as mayor and 4 years as councillor.  He was involved in many causes and has worked with numerous organizations such as the South-East Regional Service Commission (SERSC), where he represented the town of Shediac by serving as Vice-Chairman and Chairman from 2013 to 2015. He is also involved in important regional causes such as Relay for Life, the Tree of Hope, the Beauséjour Family Crisis Resource Centre and many other fundraisers held in various regional communities.

LeBlanc graduated from the Université de Moncton with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. He has been working as an accountant for the Villa Providence in Shediac since 1992. His wife, Denise Léger, owns physiotherapy clinics with offices in Shediac and Cap-Pelé; the couple has two children, Stéphane and Annie.
LeBlanc said he was honoured to receive the uncontested endorsement from the members of Shediac-Beaubassin-Cap-Pelé. “When I embarked on this adventure at the municipal level, I wanted to make a difference and help build a better future for our people. I now want to make these same contributions for the people of Shediac-Beaubassin-Cap-Pelé at the provincial level and continue the excellent work that has been carried out in our riding by our MLA Victor Boudreau,” said LeBlanc.
