MONCTON – The New Brunswick Liberal Association held a nomination convention Saturday morning for the next provincial election on September 24, 2018.  Courtney Pringle-Carver was nominated as the Liberal candidate for Moncton Northwest in an uncontested meeting.

Premier Brian Gallant, who is also Leader of the New Brunswick Liberal Party, was present at the nomination and commended Pringle-Carver on her community engagement and professional accomplishments. “Courtney has shown true dedication to the people of Moncton through her tireless volunteering. As a prominent business and community leader, she will do a great job for the people of Moncton Northwest.” said Gallant.

Pringle-Carver has successfully chaired many fundraisers, including the Canadian Cancer Society’s Daffodil Ball and the fundraising luncheon for the New Brunswick Adoption Foundation. She has been an active and engaged volunteer with the Codiac Regional Policing Authority, the Frye Literary Festival and is a past member of the Order of New Brunswick Advisory Council. Causes that support women and children are particularly important to her, and she has been a strong supporter of Crossroads for Women and the YWCA.

Pringle-Carver is the Director of Public Affairs for a regional Crown Corporation. As a member of the senior leadership team, she oversees community investments and stakeholder relations. She undertook her undergraduate studies at Concordia University and has taken executive education programs through Queen’s University, the Harvard Law School’s Negotiation Project, and the Harvard School of Public Health’s Risk Communication Program. She is married to Shawn Carver, co-founder and CEO of Fiddlehead Technology, a software analytics company, and together they have a six-year-old son.

Courtney Pringle-Carver said she was honoured to receive the uncontested endorsement from Moncton Northwest. “For many years, I have worked to improve the lives of Monctonians through volunteer leadership with local community groups and non-profit organizations,” says Pringle-Carver. “Today, I am thrilled to take this commitment to the next level, with the goal of being a strong voice to represent the residents of Moncton Northwest.”

This nomination brings the party closer to its goal that women make up 50% of the candidates nominated in unheld ridings in the next provincial election. Five of the seven nominated currently candidates in those ridings are women.
