First Nominating Conventions for 2018 Provincial Elections Announced

FREDERICTON – The New Brunswick Liberal Association (NBLA) has announced it will hold its first set of Nominating Conventions for the next provincial election on September 24, 2018.  The first nomination conventions are set for Moncton South, Fredericton-West-Hanwell, and Madawaska Les Lacs-Edmundston.

“Since we’ve become your government, we have focused on growing the economy, improving healthcare, and investing strategically in education.” said Premier Brian Gallant, who is also Leader of the New Brunswick Liberal Party.

Gallant commented on the calibre of leadership that he was seeing in the list of candidates. “We have high-quality potential candidates in these ridings that have been working hard and are committed to their communities.”

The list of official contestants for nominations will be available on the New Brunswick Liberal Party’s website at Contestants for nominations must submit their nominations forms before the respective deadline of each nomination date. These details are also available on the website.

Joel Reed, President of the New Brunswick Liberal Association, noted the Government’s efforts since the last election. “By working together over the first half of the mandate, the Liberal Government has cut the deficit in half, all the while the growing the economy, and making record investments in education and health care.”

The Liberal nominating convention for Moncton South is Tuesday, April 18, at 6:30 pm, Fredericton West-Hanwell is set for Wednesday, April 19, at 7:30 pm, and Madawaska Les Lacs-Edmundston is scheduled for Saturday, April 22 at 11:30 am.
