GRAND FALLS – The New Brunswick Liberal Association (NBLA) held a nomination convention Tuesday for the next provincial election on September 24, 2018.   Chuck Chiasson was nominated as the Liberal candidate for Victoria-La Vallée in an uncontested meeting.  Chiasson is the current MLA for Victoria-La Vallée.

 

Premier Brian Gallant, who is also Leader of the New Brunswick Liberal Party, was present at the nomination and commended Chiasson on his work for the riding “Chuck has deep roots in his community and strong business sense, which shows greatly around the caucus table and around the cabinet committee table.” said Gallant.

 

Born in Grand Falls in 1958, Chuck Chiasson graduated from Thomas Albert Senior High School in 1979. He worked in sales and customer service, first with Pepsi-Cola Canada, then, for 24 years until his retirement in 2014, with Kraft Canada Inc. During his years with Kraft Canada, he studied marketing management at Husson College in Maine. His knowledge, high energy and determination allowed him to win the National Sales Excellence Award a total of eight times throughout his career. Known as someone who is committed to youth, Chiasson served as a minor soccer coach from 1998 to 2004, and as a martial arts instructor from 2007 to 2014. In addition, he has been involved in many local fundraisers, raising money for the Canadian Cancer Society, local women’s shelter, as well as the local SPCA, to name a few.

 

Chuck Chiasson said he was honoured to receive the uncontested endorsement from Victoria-La Vallée. “Representing the wonderful people of Victoria-La Vallée has been an honour and a privilege.  I very much appreciate the opportunity to proudly continue the great work we are doing in our riding” said Chiasson.
